SUNDAY LUNCH

On Sunday my boyfriend and I swapped our regular paper-reading, coffee-drinking at home day of leisure for a Roast Sunday lunch out at the Port Mahon, on St. Clements street in East Oxford, with paper-reading, of course.

It was a really relaxing hour or so out of what has become busy day-after-day lately, now that uni is starting up again and we are both working too, a moment of quiet like this is blissful.

I think my favourite thing about this pub is the decor, it is a rather intimate pub and the mixture of fairy lights, fireplace and an array of odd pictures and objects covering the walls made it feel almost like Christmas! We felt like we were in a country pub out in the middle of nowhere, until we glanced out of the window onto the busy St. Clem's!

The fire was going next to our table and this along with our hearty Roast and cushions to snuggle back into was just what we needed on what was actually quite a bitter day, weather wise!

It's safe to say we won't be going out for Sunday lunch every weekend, we are students after all and I actually love to cook a big roast dinner myself, but it is a nice treat once or twice a month, especially when things get really hectic and busy, which I am expecting to happen fast seeing as this is our last year at uni!

What do you prefer: going out for Sunday lunch or cooking your own?
