Making Christmas Presents

This year we have gone slightly more creative, in a Pinterest kind of way, in the Christmas present department.

Being students with not much money, we thought putting together little gift goody bags would be a cheap way to still give nice, thoughtful pressies!

Hot Chocolate Jar

Get some good quality hot chocolate and mini marshmallows

Put the hot chocolate powder in first

Topped with the marshmallows

Voila! Cute gift and they have a nice jar when they have finished the hot chocolate!

Vanilla Extract

Use a knife to split vanilla pods down the centre, but not completely in half

Pop 2 or 3 into the bottle

Cover with vodka

This needs to go in a cool, dark place and will be ready to use in about 3 months and will only get better with age!

Garlic Oil

You'll need a sh*t ton of garlic

Peel the skin off

Crush each garlic clove...

... by squashing it under a knife with the base of your palm

Pour olive oil into your bottle and pop about 6 garlic cloves in. Will be ready to drizzle over pizza in just 5 hours!

And there you have a few cute and tasty home made gifts! I also made Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal "Quick" Bread, which you can see in the accompanying video (I didn't make it the same day so didn't photograph, oops!).

Here is the accompanying video, sorry about the bad quality, my flat is dark and my camera takes nice pictures but rubbish video!
